Organizing a teenager’s closet is a tough job. Sorting through the mess of a cluttered room is no parent’s dream job. However, it needs to be done, either by yourself, either by involving your teenager and then helping him keep it organized.

However, it’s their private space we’re talking about, so we cannot do much, except for ask permission first, even just for entering the room. So you, as a parent, either talk your teenager into working with you at putting order in the closet, or at least explain to them first that you intent only to clean the mess, and not search through their stuff.
A teenage boy’s room should be a place to study and relax, so put aside a day or a weekend and organize his teenage boys clothing. It’s a good activity for parent and child to do together. Sit together and consider how to do it; find simple routines for your teen to keep on avoiding a messy room.
